Three formats, your vocabulary
A researcher (qualitative interviews) Notae account only sees these three formats — never the formats or vocabulary reserved for another profession, and vice versa.
- Verbatim transcript — Word-for-word transcript of the interview, hesitations included, with "[inaudible]" for anything unclear.
- Thematic summary sheet — Themes covered (as they emerge from the interview), notable quotes (faithfully reproduced, in quotation marks), points of convergence or divergence (if several interviews are compared, only what was said), and open questions for follow-up.
- Analysis grid — Theme or code, associated excerpts (faithful verbatim), researcher's observations (only if stated during the interview), and comparison leads.

Does Notae summarize the verbatim for me?
No, never for the Verbatim format: the transcript stays word for word, hesitations included, with "[inaudible]" for anything unclear. Other formats stay strictly factual, with no interpretation you didn't state.
Does a researcher (qualitative interviews) account see formats meant for other professions?
No. Every Notae account has a profession chosen at signup. A researcher (qualitative interviews) account only sees the formats and vocabulary specific to their profession; it has no access to any format or text reserved for another profession (for example a chaplain), and vice versa.
Is participant anonymity respected?
Yes. Documents stay in your account; you decide the level of anonymization before any sharing or publication.
